Our Story

Small Gym. Big Mission.

Fitzmaurice Performance began in December 2000 with a shared passion for training and a belief that great coaching could help people achieve more.

Brothers Brian and Shawn Fitzmaurice started the business together, with Brian's wife, Amy and sister Lisa playing an important role in helping build Fitz from the very beginning. From those early days, our mission was simple:

Help people achieve higher levels of performance through great coaching and purposeful training.

Athletes came to Fitz to become stronger, faster, more explosive, and better prepared for the demands of their sport. Adults came to us through personal training to build strength, improve fitness, move better, and become healthier and more capable.

Different people. Different goals. The same commitment:

Meet people where they are. Coach them with purpose. Help them reach their potential.

As the business grew, Shawn eventually relocated to Dallas, Texas, with his wife and family to pursue other opportunities. Brian continued to lead Fitzmaurice Performance, building upon the foundation the brothers had created together.

Built on Coaching, Relationships & Results

Fitz has never been the biggest gym—and we've never needed to be.

We built our reputation one person at a time.

One athlete. One client. One workout. One relationship.

What began as a small training business grew through word of mouth, trust, and results. Families told other families. Clients referred friends. Coaches sent athletes. Young athletes grew up in our program and returned years later.

Through it all, the foundation remained the same:

Great coaching. Individual attention. High standards. Consistent work.

For more than 25 years, we've had the privilege of working with athletes at virtually every level—from young athletes learning how to train for the first time to high school standouts, collegiate athletes, and professionals competing at the highest levels of sport.

At the same time, personal training has remained an important part of who we are. We've helped adults of all ages become stronger, healthier, more confident, and better prepared for the demands of life.

Performance Is for Everyone

At Fitz, we've always believed that performance is for everyone.

For an athlete, performance might mean getting faster, becoming stronger, jumping higher, earning a starting position, making a team, playing in college, or reaching the professional level.

For an adult, it might mean building strength, improving health, staying active, keeping up with their kids, or simply feeling and performing better every day.

The goals may be different, but the process is remarkably similar:

Set a goal. Show up. Work hard. Stay consistent. Keep getting better.

Whether becoming a champion on the field or court, or a champion in the game of life, Fitz has always been committed to helping every athlete and client we train reach their potential.

More Than Sets & Reps

Training has never been just about lifting weights.

The gym provides an opportunity to develop qualities that extend far beyond physical performance:

Discipline. Confidence. Consistency. Accountability. Work ethic. Resilience.

We want our athletes to understand that becoming great doesn't happen by chance. It's built through consistent effort, good habits, great coaching, and a willingness to keep working when things aren't easy.

We want our adult clients to experience that same sense of progress—the confidence that comes from getting stronger, accomplishing something difficult, and realizing they're capable of more.

Those lessons don't stay inside the gym.

They carry into sports, careers, families, and life.

Over 25 Years of Fitz

A lot has changed since December 2000.

Training methods have evolved. Technology has improved. Our understanding of human performance has grown. Thousands of athletes and clients have walked through our doors.

But what matters most hasn't changed.

We coach people.

We learn their goals. We challenge them. We hold them accountable. We celebrate their progress. And we build relationships that often last far beyond a single season or training program.

We're proud of the athletes who have gone on to compete at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

We're equally proud of the adults who have trusted us with their health and performance—many of whom have trained with us for years.

And some of the most meaningful relationships have come full circle: young athletes who grew up training at Fitz and years later return as adults, coaches, parents, and members of the Fitz community.

That's what more than 25 years of Fitzmaurice Performance represents.

Not the size of the building.

Not the equipment inside it.

The people.
The relationships.
The standards.
The impact.

And we're still building.

The next generation of athletes and clients is already walking through our doors, and our mission remains the same as it was when Brian and Shawn started Fitz in December 2000:

Help people reach their potential through training, coaching, and a commitment to getting better.

Small Gym. Big Mission.
